OK, our Christmas was wonderfully filled with family, food, conversation, and shopping. The break started with me being diligent with going to the gym in the morning and running errands (finishing up Christmas shopping), this is not how it ended, due to weather. I got this cute monogram half zip sweater from Prep Obsessed, such a cute store so I have maybe worn it out this break. But it was great for running errands and hanging around the house.
You know me, I love anything with a monogram.
Tim worked the first week of my break and was off the second, we made some pretty big plans for that second week. Tim received some upsetting news that his grandfather had passed away. This is always such a hard thing to handle individually and then to try and support your spouse in it is also hard. After he heard the news it was a mad dash to look for ways to be with family, since we live where we do and the service was where it was, he would need to be gone for a week. I am so grateful he had the time to be there with everyone and have family time with relatives he doesn't get to see much. With him going for that long I didn't feel comfortable leaving for that long, needing arrangements for the pup and missing the first day back seemed overwhelming at the time. So I stayed and held down the fort, had lunch with the BEST mother-in-law a couple of times, had some friend time, rested and I got completely caught up with Parenthood so I am ready for the last few episodes. I finally got a new phone (I love anything new), did a little online shopping, watched church online since it snowed and I wasn't brave enough to venture out alone.
Phewww! I feel like a lot went on overall. Needless to say I am glad to have the hubby back home for more reasons than I can count. This is what our evening looked like when he made it home.
I guess I had a tired little family needing to sleep on me. :)
