Honeymoon in San Juan

We have just gotten back from our honeymoon and I already miss being pool side. We had an event-free travel down there, as in no lost luggage, and enjoyed a week relaxing. On the plane a man said we HAD to visit the rainforest, I was not feeling it, on vacation I am all about doing nothing or a minimal amount. I like sleeping in, going to the pool, reading and watching movies, eating lunch and taking a nap, going to dinner. Basically: not much. We did visit old San Juan, it was amazing to see the fort and the tiny streets and architecture. We had stopped for lunch and had a piña colada from the birth place of piña coladas, it was amazing.

We didn't stay long in old San Juan because it was deathly hot and I wanted to be by the pool.

We did go to the beach one day, it was super windy and the umbrella ended up falling and hitting me, that's when I called it and went to the pool.

We walked down to the other hotels and checked them out, still very nice, but OK, we liked ours the best. On the way we got some gelato and watched some futbol at another hotel

It was fun watching everyone stop to watch and cheer. I know the saying "smiling is a universal language" but so is watching sports.

While Tim would gamble I would do a slot machine ( I do penny slots, I hate the idea of losing), and wouldn't you know I found one that connected me to my English roots, I wish.

I did win $50, and I found these lovlies at Walgreens I felt like all the stars aligned for this to happen.

The only local food we had was a fried plantain, I wasn't a fan. We ate at Chilis, Cheese Cake Factory and Denny's that charges .49 for lemon, and non of which was any good. Well just the cheese cake factory it was delicious as usual.

My parents watched little miss for us and I caught myself saying that I missed her a lot. They sent us pics periodically with little captions.

I think they enjoyed having her, but pictures can be misleading.

As soon as we got home we got up the next morning to head to Keeler's 6th birthday party in Kansas. He, in passing, told his momma he wanted a shiney belt buckle, so Tim searched it out and got him a very nice one. Crazy to think all the little ones are not so little any more, I remember when Keeler was born.

July and Honeymoon Bound

As our honeymoon is quickly coming up I have been trying to accomplish some household chores before we head out. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I like coming home to a clean house. So I've worked on the windows and blinds, I helped Tim with the garage a few weekends ago and today I got to venture out in the world of laundromats (it may or not be because of Sprinkles). OK, so a while back a friend talked very highly of going to a laundromat before and it was super great because she got all her laundry done quickly. Well, I only needed to wash our WHITE comforter that had puppy throw up on it. I went in very nervous but the lady that was on duty was very polite and helpful. I got it all washed up and it took FOREVER to dry. But I got it home looking great.

I think Tim got nervous that I went by myself but I am glad I got it taken care of. I think I know what it might feel like to be in the nesting mode, but I'm not!!

Tim and I rearranged our furniture, we were just testing it out and this is my visitor while I was washing dishes. And YES, I clean the counter often since she has become nosy.

Yeaterday was my moms birthday and I made dessert. I made strawberry shortcake parfaits in mason jars. I was very proud of myself I made everything from scratch. Here is one recreated for Tim.

I ran out of berries so we knew he and I would have to share but he didn't get very much. He picked up some berries and ready whip. It doesn't quit look the same but I hope it tastes just as good {hope he doesn't notice it's not in a mason jar}.

I am excited to share all about our trip and adventures when we return!!
