Anniversary Month

Holy Moly!
We are celebrating our 1 year anniversary this weekend. I remember this time last year I was finishing guest favors and final touches. Wow, what happens in a year is amazing!
We have plans to eat at our restaurant, its where we had our first date, where we got engaged and now where we will celebrate. It really is our place and we love to go there for special/momentous occasions.

These past couple of weeks have been super crazy, Tim has been out of town for the most of 3 weeks, it is his busy season. I am wrapping up my year at a new school, thankful it is almost summer time. I am ready for time off with our first child Sprinkles. This is the picture I sent to Tim one evening, "I spy Sprinkles feet"

We celebrated my mother in laws birthday, Kelley and I joined efforts and found her some arm candy, a new watch and a bracelet with some cute necklaces. Accessorizing is fun! We did not get to see Pam in her new duds but soon I am sure. Also this weekend was my brother in laws birthday, we did not see him due to busy schedules but we did send him this pic to show our love from a distance.

Speaking of accessorizing I enlisted the eyes of a few friends to help add a few things to my house. I love the idea of decorating but sometimes I am too close to a project that I miss something. So after visiting with my gals of what I was thinking and what they see is needed or altered we decided we need a rug in the kitchen. Big moments here. I love hearing others ideas, like adding a rug to my kitchen (this will be larger than just a small mat in front of the sink), to add dimension and color. Here are some picks, I am also wanting to add some multi-colored curtains by our windows.

Our kitchen is just so dark due to our cabinets so I want to lighten it up. (pic from the fall)

Feel free to give some input. And along with accessorizing and revamping, we are I am starting to get an itch for new furniture. We haven't bought any except our kitchen and bedroom furniture when we bought our house. Like I want to go spend money on furniture in a big way. I haven't really convinced the hubby to want to go looking, but I know he will come around soon:)

I saw this pug pic in Facebook, his name is Doug! I'm sorry I can't get over his Harry Potter rendition, he is perfection. And his lightning bolt scar, eeeek!  Ahh, Sprinkles boyfriend?! I think yes!

Here's to a wonderful weekend that was started by a little girl talk in the parking lot of Starbucks, thanks Ashley!!

Easter travels

Tim and I had a wonderful weekend in Kansas for Easter. Getting to go to Kansas is very special for my husband, he grew up on the farm so when we go he is at the farm 98%  of the time. I am thankful I have Kelley (my sis-in-law) and other ladies of the family or else I would be really bored. On Friday we did a quick trip to a neighboring town that has a variety of stores like TJ Maxx to do a little fun shopping. (Their TJ Maxx is way better than the one here in Amarillo, so we were all excited to find some random goodies.)
We showered Tim's cousin Amber with a beautiful baby shower for sweet baby Avery Jean, I love that name. Had lots of Easter fun with the boys and Sprinkles.

Sprinkles slept the whole way home, so it was nice and quiet. The food pic is our 21 day fix approved lunch, we only ate it because Kelley made us. NO, she didn't make us but that's what was available and we all felt pretty good after eating a clean healthy lunch.

Some new faves of mine just to throw them in here quickly. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish, it is fun and it has stayed on for several days. The real test will be to see if it stays on for 14 days as advertised. Kelley and I bought ours at the local Shopko in Ulysses, KS but they are every where and sold in sets.

Since receiving Julep's monthly box of goodies only twice I know I am new to them and will receive even more goodies, but one I got in the months box was called don't leave your brows at home. OOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! This is amazing! OK, I am a firm believer that you need eyebrows and 2 of them at that. It is the first thing I look at when I meet people and some times get jealous of others who have perfected their eye brows {one time at clerk was checking me out at a local store and his eyebrows were way better than mine}. By no means are mine perfect, but by golly I sure do try to make them look good everyday!

Another fave, my new sister  necklace from Kelley, we thought we both needed one so that happened.     Kelley helped get mine since she felt that she didn't get me a birthday present many months ago, so I kindly let her indulge me on this one.

We tried to get our other sister to get one, and Tiffany doesn't wear jewelry so she needs something else in place of the necklace. Maybe we can do sister purses? Either of these will do, a girl can wish and want right?

School has been super busy with standardized testing prep, we are almost finished and home free for the year. I am ready for fun field trips and easy sailing fun days, again I can dream right? We are making plans  with some friends this weekend for a double date to see Furious 7. We have heard only good things about it so we are excited to see it, and Tim has been wanting to see several movies and we just haven't been. It's a Tim filled weekend with a movie and yard work, that's what you do when you get older.

As of lately

Us Baker's haven't been up to a whole lot but its been nice to glide through and enjoy some time.
last weekend we got to go support Tim's cousin Jace in arenacross, yikes, it had a lot going on. I had never been to anything like it before but it was fun to be there and support family.  Although he did end with a broken collar bone it was neat to see what he does for fun.

Tim and I celebrated our 10 month anniversary, wasn't it just yesterday that I was planning our wedding. And now we are planning our 1 year anniversary. Tiffany, my sis-in-law asked me (with a straight face) if we were celebrating our 2nd year of marriage this year. I had to laugh, although it does feel like its been a while it doesn't feel like its been that long.

I signed up for a Julep Maven box, I love getting things in the mail, especially goodies to use. So in this box I received the oxygen nail treatment (the nail make-up), it really does cover your nails imperfections and smooths it out while letting oxygen still flow through. I haven't tried the nail polish yet but they are good fall colors, too bad spring time is upon us.

This weekend was PI Day, so I made the best kind of PIe, apple and cherry. Tim was glad to help me in the kitchen and tackle the apple pie. It was really good, I am just not a huge fan of crunchy apples in pies and he does. So it was definitely in his favor. I used this excuse for dessert making for a family dinner at my parents house. It was a feast of tamales and pie.

Tim said you know its homemade with burn marks, oops, but they were both enjoyed.
Baby Spencer was also there enjoying family time as well, here is Bella and Spencer. She had never held Spencer or a baby for that matter so I helped a girl out.

She wasn't too excited and was a little like a robot holding him but she did great and will want to do it again for sure!

Yesterday we had a scare with Sprinkles, ahhh! We were on a nice family walk in our neighborhood since it was such a great sunny day, and she got out of her collar, yikes! How do you catch a dog who doesn't like to be touched? I knew she was a gonner and I would never see her again but finally we just sat on a curb and talked to her, she stayed right with us and never ran too far. Tim grabbed her and we headed straight home. I felt horrible for her getting away  but it is just an excuse for her to go to PetSmart and try on new a harness (she had one but chewed it up).

This is her yesterday after her escape plan failed and this morning, always with a blanket and probably snuggling (by herself), we love our Sprinkles bug and would be so sad if something tragic happened to her.

This picture pretty much sums up how we feel about her.

This is the start of my spring break and I would be loving it more if I hadn't just come back from the dentist.

2 fillings were fixed and numbness to go around, blah. This week is my dear friend Ashley's birthday, St. Patrick's Day and days off with Tim. Yeah for Spring Break!!!

Happy Late Valentine's Day!!

At school we had fun games and crafts to do and a wonderful mini burger lunch (all parent made, yum!) I got all these goodies from my kiddos, seriously spoiled.

After school we had made plans to attend our churches XO Conference. It's a marriage conference that was a simulcast from Gateway Church in Dallas. All I can say is, amazing. There was a panel of speakers which included the Bachelor Sean Lowe and his bride. We had the pleasure of eating dinner with 2 other couples and visiting while there was music, dancing and love!!!

I had to take a pic of us with our glasses. This was day 2 of the conference, bright and early. Ok, it was 9:00 but still a little early after a late night.

Saturday, as part of Valentines day we ate at Chipotle, Tim's favorite. He met up with the guys of the family for a paint ball afternoon. I joined the ladies of the family and enjoyed girl time with all the kiddos. Our big Valentines dinner was Taco Villa. not a special dinner with candles, but a dinner with family.

Sunday Tim and I slowly got around and had lunch at the mall (I had recently told him if we want Chick-fil-a we would have to go to the mall since our's is closed for a remodel. it was Sunday, I did not get my chick-fil-a) but we did try a new Philly steak hut, Charley's. It was pretty good, would of rather had Chick-fil-a but it was good.  Sunday evening we got to watch our newest nephew Spencer, this was his first time away from momma. he did great, we did great (I am biased) and Tim looked great with him. *we need a little schnookums *

This weekend we are celebrating our nephew Bryon's 6th birthday, bowling style. *****side note 3 years ago Tim and I were at Bryon's 3rd birthday and did a triple date afterwards- bowling, and that's where it all started.*****

Random January

Wow, what a year it has been and it is only January, yikes! I hope its getting me ready for amazing things to come. I have been trying to be a better me and with that comes tackling Miss Sprinkles, as soon as I start something this is what she does, plops right into my lap or does circles underneath me. Very entertaining!

I found this quote that I think is very fitting, now if Tim only agreed to this. (I know my sis-in-law Kelley would totally agree)

Yes, Carrie Bradshaw, that is where I like to see my money too!

A few weeks ago I had an eye appt. and realized that we have issues, not horrible issues  but big enough to need some help reading on computers. Here is what we came up with.

So far they are working nicely, I wear them mostly at school but sometimes its nice to see at home too:)

I have had a wild hair of cooking lately, this is what I started Thursday since we had a snow day
I thought of making dough to have pizza night with the Webbs' (my brother and sister in-law) and then this happened Friday morning

with a lovely water leak  we cancelled pizza night. (Tim and I did pizza for dinner on Sunday, super yummy!!)

Little Miss was being a ghost pug, silly girl

since we woke up to a water leak we both were a little frazzled so naturally  I didn't get my usual Starbucks Friday. All day I was wanting caffeine, remember go back to the part I am working on a better me (I only drink water throughout the day) so as a reward of making it through an awkward week and finishing my day with all my students I got a coke, big moments!

At our local grocery store you can earn points for shopping with them and at the end of the point collecting you can receive a piece of cookware.

Well I finally got mine along with paying the remaining $37 to get it, oh and a nice drink for my efforts, Starbucks Sunday!!

Oh along with getting glasses I also got a new do, for right now I am loving it, I get tired of things like my hair very quickly. Not the best picture but you can kind of tell.

That was a lot of randomness but it got it all out there, have a fabulous Wednesday!!

Delayed Christmas Break recap

Well I have loved my 2 week break and wasn't quite ready to come back. But as I am remembering in the summer it's such a long break that i usually am ready to go back to work, this was not the case.
OK, our Christmas was wonderfully  filled with family, food, conversation, and shopping. The break started with me being diligent with going to the gym in the morning and running errands (finishing up Christmas shopping), this is not how it ended, due to weather. I got this cute monogram half zip sweater from Prep Obsessed, such a cute store so I have maybe worn it out this break. But it was great for running errands and hanging around the house.
You know me, I love anything with a monogram.

Tim worked the first week of my break and was off the second, we made some pretty big plans for that second week. Tim received some upsetting news that his grandfather had passed away. This is always such a hard thing to handle individually and then to try and support your spouse in it is also hard. After he heard the news it was a mad dash to look for ways to be with family, since we live where we do and the service was where it was, he would need to be gone for a week. I am so grateful he had the time to be there with everyone and have family time with relatives he doesn't get to see much. With him going for that long  I didn't feel comfortable leaving for that long, needing arrangements for the pup and missing the first day back seemed overwhelming at the time. So I stayed and held down the fort, had lunch with the BEST mother-in-law a couple of times, had some friend time, rested and I got completely caught up with Parenthood so I am ready for the last few episodes. I finally got a new phone (I love anything new), did a little online shopping, watched church online since it snowed and I wasn't brave enough to venture out alone.

Phewww! I feel like a lot went on overall. Needless to say I am glad to have the hubby back home for more reasons than I can count. This is what our evening looked like when he made it home.

I guess I had a tired little family needing to sleep on me. :)

Tis the season!

This December has been full full full! Tim and I went to Kansas for his cousins wedding and some family time. We always have a great time staying with his brother, Tyler and his wife. We get some alone nephew time and Kelley and I get to catch up on all things girlie. Tyler prepared this fab breakfast (Tim should take notes).

She snapped this pic of Tim and I before the wedding.
Again I love it!!  Much more than my "professional" wedding pics. Wish we had done this sooner (like a month ago), would've been a great Christmas card.  My handsome hubby!!

One sweet girl from school has pugs as well and we naturally have a shared love for them and she thought I needed this. I totally agree!! I was really spoiled with cutesy Christmas gifts this year.

We did Tim's Christmas party, it was fun and I met a few sweet wives. It's always nice to meet people you can conversate with normally. Now that I am enjoying all my time off with sleeping in and hitting the gym.

We were all excited about the birth of our new nephew Spencer Daniel!!

He is just perfect! Who is this happy? A newborn baby boy who is ready to go home that's who.

Tim and I are hosting Christmas again this year and we are excited to have our house filled with family (until we all get crazy), but it will be fun to see the kids open gifts and enjoy a yummy meal.
